5 Kitchen Organizing Products I Use in Almost Every Project
A well-organized kitchen is not just about how it looks. It should make cooking, unpacking groceries, meal prep, and everyday routines easier.
One of the questions I get asked most often is, "Which organizing products are actually worth buying?"
The truth is, not every organizing product is worth the money. But there are a handful I find myself recommending again and again because they solve common problems and make kitchens easier to use and maintain.
These are five of my favorite kitchen organizing products and the ones I reach for most often in my clients' homes and my own.
#1 Turntables
If I could recommend just one organizing product for a kitchen, a turntable would be at the top of the list.
Turntables solve two of the biggest organizing challenges: deep shelves where things disappear in the back and high cabinets that are difficult to see into. Instead of moving several bottles just to reach the one you need, you simply spin the turntable and grab what you're looking for.
They're one of the most versatile organizing products you can own. While I use them constantly in kitchens and pantries, they work just as well throughout the rest of the home.

I use turntables from Target, Amazon, and The Container Store. They come in a variety of sizes, with options for high or low sides, divided sections, and even adjustable designs. I look for turntables that spin smoothly, even when fully loaded, and always recommend measuring your space before purchasing to ensure the best fit.
#2 Plastic Bag Storage
Plastic grocery bags seem to collect everywhere. I often find them stuffed under the kitchen sink, piled on the pantry floor, tucked into mudroom cabinets, or scattered throughout the house.
Giving them one designated home instantly makes a space feel more organized while making it easier to grab a bag when you actually need one.
My favorite solution is the IKEA VARIERA Plastic Bag Dispenser. It's inexpensive, takes up very little space, and naturally limits how many bags you keep. Once it's full, it's a good reminder to recycle the extras.

Many grocery stores, including Target, have plastic bag recycling bins near the entrance, making it easy to recycle any extras instead of letting them pile up at home.
#3 Food Storage Containers
Decanting simply means transferring food from its original packaging into a storage container. While it's not necessary for every pantry item, it can make a big difference for foods you reach for often.
My go-to containers are OXO POP Containers. They're durable, airtight, and one of my favorite options because the push-button lids are easy for both adults and kids to open and close.

The airtight seal helps keep food fresh longer, especially baking ingredients and frequently used pantry staples.
Tip: You don't need to decant everything. Start with the foods your family reaches for most often and add containers over time as your needs change.
#4 Appliance Cord Organizer
Small appliance cords have a way of creating unnecessary clutter. Whether they're hanging off the counter, getting tangled together, or caught behind appliances, they can make even an organized kitchen feel messy.
A simple adhesive cord organizer keeps cords neatly wrapped and out of the way when the appliance isn't in use. It's a small detail, but one that makes cabinets and countertops feel much tidier.

I like simple adhesive cord organizers from Amazon that attach to the back of the appliance. They're inexpensive, easy to install, and help keep cords organized without taking up additional space.
Tip: Before purchasing cord organizers, check your appliances. Many newer appliances include built-in cord storage, but it's often tucked underneath or on the back and easy to miss.
#5 Multi-Purpose Bins for Backstock
If you shop at Costco, Sam's Club, or buy multiples of your favorite items when they're on sale, creating a backstock area can make your pantry much easier to manage.
Backstock is simply the extra food and household items you aren't using yet. Instead of storing those extras throughout your pantry, keep them together in labeled bins so they're easy to find when it's time to restock.
Multi-purpose bins are one of my favorite ways to organize backstock because they keep similar items together, make it easy to see what you have, and help keep your pantry organized when you buy in bulk.

Tip: Before adding something to your grocery list, shop your backstock first. A designated backstock area helps prevent duplicate purchases and makes it easier to keep track of what you already have.
